Year of the Dog

Congratulations to Jodi's cousin Drew and his wife Mary on the arrival of their son Cole Andrew!! Happy to hear everyone is doing well and sending our best wishes to the newest Kaufmann.

Now for some fun information. Owen, as a 2006 baby, was born in the Year of the Dog:

Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality.

Those born in dog years tend to be loyal, kind, and generous. They will work to right wrongs and are able to keep secrets. People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people's confidence because they know how to keep secrets. Dog people make good leaders.

But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues (uh-oh).

In addition, 2006 is a year of Fire. Fire Dogs are popular, charismatic people, always surrounded by a group of admirers. Not only admired for their vibrant personalities, these Dogs also possess an attractiveness that makes them irresistible. These people are adventurous and vivacious, yet, honest and openhearted. However, because they are so active, they are generally not the settle down type (hmmm, maybe this is why Owen's caretakers nicknamed him "Sexy"??).
