The Other Big One

*** This is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. Should the Baltimore/DC area receive more than 1 inch of snow for the remainder of this winter you will hear loud screaming. In the event of another storm, please send a fleet of Saint Bernards equipped with barrels of (good) scotch and satchels of (even better) dark chocolate to the Westminster location on your screen. BEEEEPPPPPP ***

It stared snowing again Tuesday afternoon and didn't stop for the next 24+ hours. Bob shoveled off the deck as we were worried about the weight from the last storm (and to try to keep the shelter we built for a neighborhood stray cat accessible - that's the small opening you see in the picture above); within an hour it looked about the same as pre-shovel. Our county pulled the plows off the roads due to low visibility - we were really and truly housebound.

Owen and I decided sugar cookies would be a good idea ...

Yum - they were!

Thursday morning dawned clear and bright. We all layered up and headed outside. Owen loves the snow - eating it, throwing it, sliding on it - but it was so deep he (and Bob and I) got quite the workout trying to walk through it. I've heard that Westminster got at least 50" between this snow and the last one less than a week ago!

We created a walking path and sled run established down one of our small hills and Owen had a great time swishing down the track.

Still, I think it's safe to say we are all ready for Spring!

Love the pics. I think you got more than us. Hannah wanted no part in the snow but loved the days off school

Hey there... have you been checking the forecast? MORE snow next week! I thought we lived in MD, but I'm thinking we have someone stepped into an alternate universe & are secretly in Buffalo, NY or something!

Miss you! Erin
